Contents: In an interview on November 15, 1991, Gore Vidal identified DULUTH, along with MYRA BRECKINRIDGE, as being among his favorites of the books he's written. He also classes them as similarly being about " . . . alternative worlds, comic and satiric, whatever word you want to use, the reverse of realism."

Later in the interview, he laments: DULUTH never really caught on because nobody knows about it. Perhaps they'll find out. There's no longer a grapevine for books. In the old days somebody would read a book and tell somebody else about it. It would be word of mouth. That's just sort of stopped.

On the other hand, the book jacket states simply: "DULUTH tears the lid off DALLAS."

That's all it says on the front flap. Apparently when you're famous like Gore Vidal, you don't need to entice your readers with any information about the book.

Hmmmm.
