This is the first time they have been published in book form.
Condition: Near Fine in Near Fine jacket. Remainder mark on front page edges, other than that, book appears as new and unread. Jacket shows rubbing on back cover and a few wrinkles (no creases) along upper margin.
Contents: For those who occasionally or religiously listen to "A Prairie Home Companion" no explanation is necessary. For those who don't, well . . . I can only try. These are stories, however made-up they may be, about real people. People like your mom and dad, and their big 40th anniversary trip to Las Vegas; your Uncle Frank, who only comes once a year on Thanksgiving; and the sister who went away to the big city to have that baby no one ever talks about. None of those examples, by the way, are in this book, but they could be, because those are the kind of people that Garrison Keillor talks about, week after week, wth gentle humor. A wonderful read, these thirty-six stories of leaving, or thinking of leaving, Lake Wobegon, "Where all the women are strong, all the men are good-looking, and all the children are above average."
