Judging the Horse for Racing, Riding and Recreation, by Wall, John F. and Frank Jennings. Wilfred Funk: New York, 1955. Edition: First Edition. Hardcover, 208 pages. Burlap cloth with brown lettering on cover and spine and red drawing of a cupola and weathervane on cover. Illustrated with black and white drawings. Includes index.
Condition: Good. This book is an EX-LIBRARY book with the usual markings, including card pocket and due-date slip still affixed to the inside back cover and last free end paper. Book also contains numerous library stamps of ownership. There is a blackened strip about 3/8 inch high on the spine which is probably where the call letters have been blacked out. Cover and page ends are soiled, however text block itself is clean and unmarked, secure in the binding.
Contents: A great deal of good information delivered, for the most part, in a conversational and anecdotal style that makes for easy reading and sustained interest. If the book has a bias, it is toward the race horse, whether Quarter horse or Thoroughbred.
