I believe this is a true first edition prior to the label being affixed. The author's website gives the publisher as Edwards Brothers and makes no mention of Caballus.

Contents: A book that attempts to present information on genetics in a way simple enough for a layman's comprehension but with enough depth to satisfy the professional veterinarian or academic geneticist. This book is an excellent reference for breeders, since in addition to detailed information on genetics, it includes basic informatoi on equine reproduction, heredity and environment, selection of breeding stock, bringing desirable traits into a herd, and developmental abnormalities. This book will also be of great value to breeders interested in color inheritance, and substantial sections of that chapter are devoted to the Appaloosa patterns and breeding for color in the Appaloosa.
