Gray cloth with brown lettering on cover and spine; paper cutout of mare and foal heads on front cover; pictorial end papers of horses; liberally illustrated with line drawings in brown ink and full color illustrations by Pers Crowell.

Condition: Good Plus. Cover is soiled and worn with a water stain on the back which has not done any structural damage to the book. Spine ends and corners bumped and worn. This book carries the Ex Libris plate of Violet Hopkins on the half-title page. Violet Hopkins, former American Horse Shows Association (now USA Equestrian) "S" judge and proponent of dressage education in the United States passed away in April, 2005 at age 93. Ms. Hopkins was active in Dressage throughout her life. She was a charter member of the Midwest Dressage Association as well as a charter member of USDF.

Contents: This book tells the story, in a mix of text and pictures, of the first year and a half in the life of Beau Dare, a real American Saddlebred colt by Soboba out of Gypsy Dawn.
