Contents: Publisher's Note:

Never before has anyone attempted to explain in simple language the use of the bewildering variety of equipment and clothing designed for the comfort and protection of the horse both in the stable and at work. This includes such items as bridles, bits, martingales, saddles, girths, rugs, rollers, breaking tackle, grooming machines, and a great many more. . . Each piece of equipment is examined in detail, its use explained, and its merits appraised. There are chapters on the two basic materials, leather and metal, and on the principles of saddle fitting -- the most important part of a comfortable ride. Nearly two hundred drawings complement the text.
