This book, written by Wisconsin journalist Tim Kelley, traces the history of Wisconsin banking from its origins in the 1800'sto the present day.
The book is drawn in part from the records of state banks and the Wisconsin Bankers Association, which commissioned the book as part of its 1992 centennial celebration. This book represents an attempt by the bankers of this state to preserve their richly textured history, which spans generations and encompasses brilliant and colorful individuals.
This book is not meant to be a comprehensive historical text, but rather a collection of stories about the people and events that shaped the Wisconsin banking industy from the 1830's to today.
