Condition: Very Poor. Book has water damage which has discolored the cover and let tide marks on most interior pages. Despite the visual evidence of water damage, there is no musty smell to the book.

Contents: A German reader for the beginning student. About half of the book consists of explanatory notes in English and a German to English vocabulary. The book has sections devoted to children, youths, and "old and young", and includes a goodly amount of German poetry. Although the book is damaged, it would be a very nice practice book for someone learning German because the vocabulary has been deliberately chosen to be simple, useful and modern.
